Flame Proofing NY is family-owned, operated and originally specialized in fabric cleaning and stain retarding with 'Scotchgard' protector since1993. In 2001 we began the application of flame retardants for the contract market with respect to curtains and upholstery.

Our customer based is wide and varied, which means there is no project to small and no project that is too large for our professionals. We work routinely with designers, builders, architects, major fabric producers, converters and suppliers, national hotel chains, furnishing stores, museums, colleges of music, event planning/staging companies, stage production companies, stately homes, theatres, senior living facilities, hospitals, schools and any public facility that requires an affidavit from the Fire Department of New York.

Flame Proofing NY has a Certificate of Fitness from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) to apply flame retardant and to issue flameproofing affidavits. Our specialty is clearing up flameproofing violations by applying a fire retardant (flame retardant) to a variety of materials. We have a two day and three day 'Express Option' for the 'impossible deadlines' imposed upon our clients to obtain an affidavit that work has been completed so that the violation can be cleared.

In addition, we assist businesses in obtaining Certificate of Occupancy status by meeting Fire Department, Building Department and Health Department Code.
